Its location within walking distance of the centre of St Gilles Croix de Vie. It had a car park although not sufficient to cater for all guest cars.Evening dinner was of high quality.
The Receptionist on our day of arrival was very unhelpful, spoke no English or made any attempt to do so, did not explain any of the Hotel facilities and just gave us the key to our Room and we had to ask which way to get to it.

The staff were DECENT and affable all the time. The breakfast selection was excellent with fresh juices and veggies, for example.

The stay was really nice in winter. Comforts of the standard room were fabulous - a flat-screen TV, ironing facilities, and a writing desk. - the staff was really helpful, accommodating, and responded promptly to requests.

Free on-site parking. Not too far to walk to the centre. The bed was comfortable. Looks as if it will be nice once the work is finished. Swimming pool looked inviting.
It was in the middle of being refurbished and was therefore rather a building site. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The shower door was hanging lose and the shower needed a clean. The bathroom was tiny. There was a spiral staircase with lights that came on when movement was detected. Elderly/infirm people found these extremely difficult and as they moved slowly the lights did not activate.

Room although very dated and spartan was very clean and comfortable. .
The staff were rather characterless and could have done more to make us welcome. We did not eat in the restaurant, other than breakfast, because the displayed menus at the hotel entrance showed discounts on the meals. This suggested that business was poor and indicated to us that maybe the restaurant was not busy.We ate elsewher in the evenings.

liked this good budget hotel: savoury food and decent staff. standard twin room i stayed at was good-sized with a balcony. essentials that you need, such as central heating, iron/ironing board, and an electronic key card, were there. the location was incredible, near to waterfront, in the downtown area. btw, casino was placed just 1 km from the venue.

We have stayed at the Le Lion D`or on and off for the last 10 years nothing much has changed the best thing is where it is situated near the river Vie which we like to pop down there for a stroll before dinner the meals were better than before. We were told that we had chambre on the road side is that is all they give you. Any way we hope to go agin next year.

The regular room may not have looked great in the pictures, but in person, it was nicely set up and had a new feel to it, plus it even had a balcony 🌞. the spot where this place is located is amazing, and all in all, the staff were truly helpful.

The location was spot on, with a short walk to the market and the quayside. We even found some cool restaurants nearby. The staff were super friendly and the rooms were clean and comfy. Plus, they had an indoor pool for epic swimming sessions! We couldn't have asked for a better base for our adventures.
The only thing we wished for was a killer party scene. We had so much energy and were ready to dance the night away, but couldn't find any clubs nearby.

I chose this hotel for attending a forum and it provided excellent conference facilities. The staff were helpful and the 24-hour front desk was convenient. The complimentary newspapers in the lobby were a nice touch.
The only service that I missed for my work was a business center. It would have been helpful to have access to a computer and printer during my stay.

Great value for money, with a comfortable room and excellent air conditioning. The hotel's location is perfect, within walking distance of the bustling town and its many restaurants. The staff were delightful, particularly the young lady at reception with long dark hair.
Breakfast choices could have been more varied.
